A great family hike in Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park is Lily Lake, just outside of Estes Park, Colorado. Lily Lake is inside the boundaries of RMNP. But you do not have to go through the national park entrance to access this beautiful alpine lake. And it is a hop skip and a jump from Estes Park, Colorado! This easy accessible hike is great and the views are specular. We will also talk about the wildlife and things to see at Lily Lake. Come along with us as we take a hike high in the Rocky Mountains just outside of Leadville, Colorado to a haunting abandoned ghost resort called Interlaken. The abandoned Interlaken Ghost Resort, is located on the south side of Twin Lakes and was considered one of Colorado’s most beautiful resort in the late 1800’s. But for nearly a century, the abandoned resort’s buildings were left to crumble and its access road was cut off by a rising lake. Leaving it alone and only accessible by trail or by boat.
