The Holiday 2024 season is turning out to be strong, with a handful of classic pairs returning. Jordan Brand is known for taking its classic colorways and giving them a material twist for the ladies. They will do this for the “Bred Velvet” Air Jordan 11. The use of Velvet has landed on a handful of women’s Air Jordan 11s. However, this will be the first time for the “Bred” color scheme.
This isn’t the only original colorway of the Jordan 11 returning in 2024. We confirmed that Jordan Brand will debut the “Columbia” Air Jordan 11 during the Holiday 2024 season.
The “Bred” Air Jordan 11 is a fan favorite and is one of the most sought-after pairs from Jordan Brand. Originally released in 1995, it was known as the “Playoffs.” With a retail price of $125, unfortunately, those days are long behind us. The nickname derives from Jordan wearing this colorway in the 1995-96 NBA Playoffs and capturing his fifth NBA Championship. After the initial debut, we saw the colorway retro multiple times. The first time was in 2001, and this rendition featured a lower-cut patent leather compared to the OG release.
Fast forward to 2008, and Jordan Brand combined the “Bred” Air Jordan 11 with the “Taxi” Air Jordan 12 as part of the Countdown Pack. This series was to celebrate the Air Jordan XX3. For the first time in 11 years, we will have the opportunity to buy the shoes again in 2012. The final time we saw a release was in 2019. This time, Jordan Brand made them true to the OG forum and featured a higher-cut patent leather and peaks.
This Air Jordan 11 comes dressed in a Black, Gym Red, and White color combination. Our sources confirmed that the shoes will come in the “Bred” color blocking, but instead of patent leather, they will have velvet. We have yet to receive word if the upper will have velvet or nubuck and could feature a similar build as the “Velvet Night Maroon” rendition. The shoes are expected to have Black across the upper with Red on the Jumpman and across the outsole. Completing the look is White 23 on the heels, and the same shade hinted on the tongue branding and midsole.
